In Australia, anyone with a medical degree is entitled to perform “cosmetic” surgery. Some ‘cosmetic surgeons’ are really GP’s who have only taken brief courses to learn certain procedures.
However, in Australia, members of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons have undertaken the further training necessary to qualify as a Plastic Surgeon. This training involves an additional 8 years of practical instruction (on top of a medical degree) to master the specialist skills required to perform plastic surgical procedures.
Dr. Allan Kalus and Ms Rebecca Wyten are both qualified as specialists in Plastic and Reconstructive and have extensive experience in the subspecialty of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
In addition to being a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Dr. Kalus is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is also a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and has served as Honorary Secretary of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
With over 30 years’ experience, Dr. Kalus has outstanding technical skills and is committed to the highest ethical standards. He is a sensitive and compassionate doctor.
Ms Wyten is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons. Ms Wyten brings a woman’s touch to the practice and is highly sought after not only for her surgical skills, but also for her kindness, understanding and compassion.
