Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

Everything you need to know

Abdominoplasty, more commonly known as a tummy tuck, is the most effective way to tighten and tone the abdomen. A tummy tuck involves the removal of excess skin and fat (including stretch marks), as well as the tightening of the abdominal skin. It is also used to tighten ab muscles that have weakened or stretched over time or as a result of pregnancy. Through abdominoplasty, our patients can achieve a smaller waistline and a tighter, flatter stomach. Dr Allan Kalus, our respected surgeon, has performed hundreds of procedures over the years and can consult with you to determine the best procedure for you. Your tummy tuck can also be combined with liposuction to remove excess fat from your hips and abdomen, depending on your needs. Any excess fat from your tummy can also be harvested and grafted into your breasts using a technique known as fat injection to give you a 1-2 cup increase in size and a lift!

We specialise in performing the following Abdominoplasty Surgeries:

  • Radical Abdominoplasty This is our most common form of abdominoplasty as it tightens the skin on both the upper and lower parts of the abdomen. The procedure involves the removal of loose skin and excess fat from the umbilicus (belly button) to the bikini line. The underlying muscles are tightened. Our full abdominoplasty achieves significant tightness and tone; however, there is an incision that runs across the bikini line.
  • Sub-umbilical Abdominoplasty Allows loose skin and muscles to be tightened, with only a small incision at the bikini line. Short-scar abdominoplasty results in minimal scarring and more rapid recovery.
  • Abdominoplasty with Liposuction Our tummy tuck procedures can be combined with liposuction to remove excess fat from your waist, abdomen and hips for a more contoured result.
  • Abdominoplasty with breast lift You can combine your procedure with a breast lift to provide a complete “mummy makeover”. Some patients also have fat removed by liposuction transferred into their breasts to provide a natural breast enlargement.
